Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is advising motorists that traffic on the inbound (traveling toward Pittsburgh) Parkway West (I-279 and Route 22/30) will be reduced to a single lane in the area of the I-79 interchange in Robinson and Collier townships, Allegheny County, on Monday night, May 12, 2008.
The inbound lane closure will occur from 10 p.m. on tonight through 5 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13. Outbound traffic will not be affected and all ramps will remain open. The temporary lane closure is necessary as crews restripe lane configurations.
The work is part of the $67.5 million I-79 Parkway West “missing ramps” project. The project is constructing two ramps connecting I-79 to the Parkway West (I-279/Route 22/30). Construction will conclude in 2009.The prime contractor for the project is Balfour Beatty Construction, Inc. of Canonsburg, PA.
