In addition, the outbound Parkway West off-ramp to Greentree Road will be closed. The outbound lane closures and ramp closure will also continue nightly next week.
Inbound traffic will not be affected at this time. The right lane, exit lane and ramp closure on the outbound Parkway West will occur according to the following schedule:

- June 28-29: Midnight Saturday to 3 p.m. Sunday
- June 29-30: 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday

The restrictions are necessary as crews continue a $2.5 million project to improve and the bridge that carries Greentree Road over the Parkway West (I-279). The project includes repainting and repairing the Route 121 (Greentree Road) Bridge structure and deck, and milling, asphalt overlay, drainage work, and other improvements Route 121 (Greentree Road) from the Parkway West inbound (northbound) off-ramp to Mansfield Avenue.
To minimize impacts on the traveling public, any restrictions needed on the Parkway West will only occur at night and on weekends. No work will occur on the Parkway West, but lane closures will be required for access and public safety as crews work on the bridge above the roadway. Shoulder closures and lane restrictions will also occur on Route 121 (Greentree Road).
The prime contractor for the project, which also includes similar improvements on the ramp that connects northbound Route 19 to the outbound Parkway West near the Fort Pitt Tunnels, is Mosites Construction Company of Pittsburgh, PA. The overall project will be completed in September.
PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
