Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is pleased to announce a $3.2 million project to improve the Route 51 (Constitution Boulevard) Bridgewater Interchange in the Boroughs of Beaver and Bridgewater, Beaver County, will begin on Monday, June 2, 2008.
The project includes concrete patching and overlay on Route 51, a new ramp from Bridge Street to northbound Route 51, traffic signal upgrades, drainage repairs, guiderail, bridge deck repairs, and other improvements from the south end of the Beaver-Rochester Bridge to approximately 800 feet north of Bridge Street.
Traffic on Route 51 will be reduced to single lane in each direction around-the-clock in the interchange area beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday. Various lane closures, detours and other restrictions will occur during the project. Additional information will be released as the project progresses.
The prime contractor for the project is the John Gulisek Construction Company of Mt. Pleasant, PA. The project will be completed this fall.
PennDOT advises motorists to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
