Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is advising motorists that traffic on outbound (northbound) Interstate 279 (Parkway North) in the area of the Route 19 overpass (Perrysville Avenue Bridge) in Ross Township, Allegheny County, will be reduced to single lane this weekend, June 27-30, 2008. Outbound single lane traffic will also occur on Monday night.
The Parkway North carries three lanes of outbound traffic in this area. Two outbound lanes will be closed allowing one lane to remain open as crews continue work to paint the Route 19 overpass (Perrysville Avenue Bridge). The lane closures will begin at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, June 27, and will continue around-the-clock through 6 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008. Single lane traffic will also occur from 8 p.m. on Monday night through 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning, July 1. Inbound traffic will not be affected at this time.
The Route 19 overpass (Perrysville Avenue Bridge) repainting work is included in a $6.6 million contract with Brayman Construction Inc. of Saxonburg, PA. The contract also includes improvements currently underway on the Robert D. Fleming 62nd Street Bridge that carries State Route 8 over the Allegheny River in the City of Pittsburgh and the Boroughs of Etna and Sharpsburg. The projects will be completed this fall.
