Pittsburgh, PA – Pittsburgh, PA– PennDOT District 11 is pleased to announce construction activities to replace a small bridge on Route 2010 (Lovedale Road) in Lincoln Borough, Allegheny County, will begin on Monday, July 7, 2008.
The bridge is located on Lovedale Road between Jacktown Road Extension and Route 2023 (Harrison Hollow Road). To allow the necessary work to be completed, Route 2010 (Lovedale Road) will be closed to thru-traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2008. Route 2010 (Lovedale Road) will remain closed for approximately six weeks through mid-August 2008. About 8,800 vehicles use this area of Route 2010 (Lovedale Road).
Note: This project was originally scheduled to occur in May, but was postponed to minimize impacts on school buses.
The suggested detour is shown below:
Eastbound:
· Take right off Route 2010 (Lovedale Road) onto Route 2008 (Mill Hill Road)
· Left onto Scenery Drive/Route 48
· Return to Route 2010 (Lovedale Road)
Westbound:
- South on Scenery Drive/Route 48
- Right onto Route 2008 (Mill Hill Road)
- Return to Route 2010 (Lovedale Road)
The closure is necessary as contractor crews remove and replace the bridge with a large pipe. The contractor performing the $70,000 project is Thornbury, Inc of Sunbury PA.
Motorists are advised to use caution and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
