The following information was posted on the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) website as of Saturday November 8, 2008. Please check the official Indianapolis Airport website for updates. Remember, if you are picking someone up at the Indianapolis Airport and their flight arrives after 8pm on Tuesday November 11, 2008, you will need to pick them up at the new airport!

The new Indianapolis International Airport will receive its first arrivals beginning at 8 p.m. on November 11. On November 12, the new facility at 7800 Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive will be in full operation, replacing the old airport located on High School Road.

Here are some important tips for passengers during the transition between facilities beginning Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
 
TUESDAY, NOV. 11, 2008 —  Passengers departing Indianapolis will board flights at the old airport, located at 2500 South High School Road & Sam Jones Expressway.

—  Aircraft and passengers scheduled to arrive BEFORE 8 p.m. will land at the old airport. If flights scheduled to arrive before 8 p.m. are delayed, they will also land at the old airport.

—  Aircraft and passengers scheduled to arrive in Indianapolis AT OR AFTER 8 p.m. will land at the new airport, located off I-70 via Exit 68 (the first exit west of I-465).
 
Personnel will be stationed at both the new and old airports to answer questions, assist with wayfinding, and direct passengers and visitors to the appropriate facility.
 
Complimentary shuttle service will be provided for passengers who parked at airport-operated facilities at the old airport but land at the new airport.
Shuttles will depart from the new airport outside Baggage Claim. Passengers should look for signs marked “Shuttles to the old airport” along the Arrival Level drive. Depending on vehicle location, passengers will take one of two shuttles:

1.  Take an “A” bus (see windshield) for cars parked at the old airport’s Parking Garage and adjacent surface lot.

2.  Take a “B” bus for cars parked at the old Tiger, Economy, and/or Premier lots.
 
Drivers picking-up passengers on flights scheduled to arrive at or after 8 p.m. should take I-70 to Exit 68. Parking is always free in the airport’s new 49-space Cell Phone Lot on a first-come, first-served basis. Drivers may also park for free Parking Garage on Nov. 11. Beginning Nov. 12, standard parking rates apply. 
   
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 12, 2008                 
—  All arriving and departing passengers should go to the new airport located off I-70 via Exit 68 (first exit west of I-465).
 
—  Passengers should NOT go to the old airport. No airport shuttles or public transportation will be available between the old and new airports. Parking at the old airport will be closed to new arrivals.
 
DEPARTURES
—  From I-70 Exit 68 follow signs to the Parking Garage, Long-Term Parking, or Economy Parking Lot. Ample parking with plenty of spaces is available. Standard rates apply.

—  Allow extra time for orientation to the new airport, including the check-in and Ticketing Hall area, Civic Plaza, security checkpoints, and concourses.

—  Drivers dropping-off passengers should follow signs to the Departures Level drive and may pull to the curb for active passenger unloading. Passengers may use airline curbside check-in station or inside ticket counters.
 
ARRIVALS
—  Drivers picking-up passengers may park in the free Cell Phone Lot. Passengers can call drivers when they have deplaned, claimed bags, and are waiting at the curb. Drivers can pull to the Arrivals Level curb when actively loading and unloading passengers and bags. 
 
—  Drivers may also park in the Parking Garage and wait for passengers in Civic Plaza or the Baggage Claim areas. Take the Pedestrian Bridge into the terminal. Standard parking rates will apply in all airport parking facilities.

POST-NOV. 12, 2008
Passengers landing at the new airport who have personal vehicles parked in airport-operated facilities at the old airport will be provided free shuttle service to the old airport.
 
1.  Up to 20 complimentary shuttle buses will run 24 hours/day the week of Nov. 11–18.
 
2.  Up to 10 complimentary shuttle buses will run 24 hours/day the week of Nov. 19–26.
 
3.  Taxi vouchers will be available the week of Nov. 27–Dec. 3 from Guest Services (open until 11 p.m. Monday–Friday; 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday). Late arrivals may obtain vouchers from taxi drivers. Vouchers are good ONLY from the new airport to cars parked at the old airport.  
The new Indianapolis International Airport includes a new terminal building, new parking facilities, new interstate access via I-70, and a new air traffic control tower. It was built without state or local tax dollars.

Albany International Airport (ALB) contracts with HMSHost to bring new airport restaurants, bars and concessions

Albany International Airport (ALB), NY (November 4, 2008) -- A new contract between Albany International Airport (ALB) and HMS host will begin January 1, 2009. After that time there will be a change in the airport restaurants, bars and concessions.

New Albany International Airport Restaurants, Bars and Concessions will be:

Dunkin' Donuts
Starbucks
Silks Saratoga Bistro - a full service restaurant featuring a tasting menu from Jack's Oyster House in Albany
Adirondack Lodge - a casual dingin restaurant
Hudson Valley Wine Bar - Little information is avaialable - reportedly they will feature loca and regional New York wines
Brioche Doree - a French - bakery cafe, featuring sandwiches, salads and pastries, also with a restaurant in Los Angeles' LAX and throughout Europe.

These new airport restaurants, bars and concessions will join Green Leaf’s, Bananas, Villa Pizza and McDonald’s which are already at the airport. Leaving will be Saranac Brewhouse, Capital City Pub, Saranac Street, The Coffee Beanery and Checkpoint Cafe & Pub.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport’s (RDU) Terminal 2 is open now with 19 gates and 26 new restaurants and shops and 10 security lanes. Phase 2 of Terminal 2 is to open in 2011.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), NC (October 27, 2008) — Raleigh-Durham International Airport's Terminal 2 officially opened for business yesterday when the first flight departed just before 6 a.m. The new terminal features a modern design that guides passengers easily from the curb to the gate. Passenger amenities include a variety of specialty retail shops and restaurants, including local favorites, and a new processing area for international travelers.
    
The following airlines are operating from Terminal 2: Air Canada, American, American Eagle and United. Delta Airlines will move into Terminal 2 on November 9.

“Terminal 2 is a facility that reflects the dynamic region RDU serves and supports our passengers' travel needs,” said Teresa Damiano, Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority's director of marketing. “Architecture and art combine to introduce visitors to the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina. Customer amenities include 40 electronic kiosks, a large security checkpoint and shops and restaurants that cater to leisure and business travelers.”

Phase two of the terminal will open in Winter 2011. When completed, the terminal will feature a total of 32 boarding gates, more than 40 shops and restaurants, five baggage claim carousels and six commissioned works of art.

With the opening of Terminal 2, RDU's Terminal A was renamed Terminal 1. The following airlines are operating from Terminal 1: AirTran, Continental, JetBlue, Northwest, Southwest and US Airways. Delta will operate from Terminal 1 until its move to Terminal 2 on November 9.

RDU's Terminal 2 has been in the making for more than 15 years. In the 1990s, central North Carolina experienced tremendous growth. With new jobs and new residents came an increased demand for air travel. Terminal 2 is designed to support the travel needs of the Research Triangle Region and also positions the airport for future growth. When completed in Winter 2011, Terminal 2 will accommodate 11.4 million passengers per year.

Passenger Experience

635,000-Square-Foot Terminal Offers Efficiency and Boasts Customer-Friendly Features

NEW YORK, Oct 22, 2008 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) JFK Airport  -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq:JBLU) today welcomes its first customers to Terminal 5, the airline's newly constructed home at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Commencing today, all JetBlue departures from JFK will operate from T5, as will all domestic arrivals and international arrivals that pre-clear U.S. customs prior to arriving in New York. The first flight scheduled to arrive at T5 was JetBlue Flight 358 from Burbank at 5:05 a.m. The first departure scheduled for T5 was JetBlue Flight 709 to San Juan, with a scheduled departure time of 6:00 a.m.

One of the first terminals in the U.S. to be completely designed and built post 9/11, T5 focuses on efficiency and customer comfort. The 635,000-square-foot terminal boasts 26 gates distributed throughout three concourses and includes a 55,000-square-foot central retail and concession Marketplace. T5 is designed to accommodate up to 20 million annual customers with up to 250 daily departures.

The design of T5 allows customers to control their own movement and experience through the terminal. There are two check-in areas with a total of 65 e-ticket kiosks and 40 traditional check-in counters, a large central security checkpoint -- the largest single checkpoint in the United States -- capable of accommodating 20 screening lanes, and an automated "in-line" baggage system that efficiently moves bags from the check-in lobby through screening and to the ramp for delivery to waiting aircraft.
